Simultaneously with the publication of Alexander Janetzko’s book 24h Berlin, FENSTER61 is presenting a selection of works created for this project. On 5 September 2008, on the initiative of the photographic agency Ostkreuz – Agentur der Fotografen, 36 photographers roamed through Berlin for one day to document the city in all its various facets and to convey a feeling for it in the form of a book. On that day Alexander Janetzko worked on a documentary about the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. In addition to photos from this series, he also shows the people he encountered as well as street scenes in the boroughs of Mitte, Kreuzberg and Neukölln. Steidl published the book accompanying the project on 5 September 2009 – exactly one year later.
