Andreas Muhs: Rest-Berlin

Seit zwanzig Jahren wird Berlin abgerissen, aufgebaut, saniert, neuerfunden. Mit jedem Bauvorhaben verschwinden Brachen, Baulücken, Brandwände, schmucklose Alt- und Plattenbauten, die über Jahrzehnte das Stadtbild geprägt haben. Der Architekturfotograf Andreas Muhs dokumentiert in der Serie “Rest-Berlin” diese Orte und Symbole. In Anlehnung an das Buchlayout werden die Motive als Bildpaare präsentiert. Parallel zur Ausstellung erscheint ein Buch, das als book on demand bestellt werden kann.

Berlin Remnants – For twenty years Berlin has been demolished, built up, renovated and reinvented. With every new building project, wasteland, empty lots, firewalls, plain, unadorned old buildings and tower blocks disappear which dominated the face of the city for many decades. In his “Rest-Berlin” series architectural photographer Andreas Muhs has captured these places and symbols. In line with the layout of the book, the photographs are presented in pairs. To coincide with the exhibition, a photo book will be published and made available as print on demand.
