Seit 2008 streift der Fotograf Florian Reischauer durch die Straßen Berlins, er portraitiert die Menschen, die sich hier tummeln und manch Ecken der Stadt. Für ein paar Minuten werden die Berliner aus ihrer Anonymität geholt, und über ihre Stadt befragt. Egal wie alt, welcher Bezirk, welcher sozialer Background: Ziel ist es, einen Querschnitt durch den Berliner Alltag zu legen und der Versuch die Stadt etwas festzuhalten, die flüchtig ist und sich ständig verändert. Die analogen Aufnahmen mit Farbstichen und Kratzern lassen die Personen zusätzlich aufleben, aus ihrem Leben erzählen. Das Photo(blog)projekt Pieces of Berlin ist eine Momentaufnahme, die in Bewegung ist und ständig mit neuen Teilen aktualisiert wird.

In 2008 photographer Florian Reischauer began to prowl through Berlin, shooting portraits of the people who populate the many streets and corners of the city. For a few minutes Reischauer gives anonymous passers-by a face and a voice, asking them questions about the city they live in. Whatever their age, neighbourhood or social background, the idea is to present a cross sectional view of everyday life in the city, to ‘freeze’ this ephemeral, ever-changing place, if only for a few moments. With their slight scratches and colour casts, the analogue photographs breathe life into their subjects, allowing them to tell personal stories. The photo (blog) project “Pieces of Berlin” is a continuously updated and extended snapshot in motion.
